Sam-6 months

My little man is almost 6 months old!!! He is growing fast and happy as can be!! Sam is now 17 lbs. 9oz. and 26 1/2 inches. He now has two teeth and is constantly chewing and drooling. He sleeps SO good and handles all the running around we do beautifully. We drove to New Orleans last weekend (and go again this weekend) and was great during the 6 hour drive. He is such a sweetie and loves to cuddle and be tickled.

Okay, so I missed Sam's 3rd month, but I added a picture of him we had taken then. He has now turned 4 months old and is the BEST baby!! He weighs 16 pounds and is 25 inches long. He sleeps anywhere from 10-12 hours at night and naps off and on all day. He smiles ALL THE TIME!! He is so happy! He is teething and drooling and starting to play in the exersaucer. He is pure joy! The twins are now 2nd graders!!! I can't believe it! They have a big summer planned including flying by themselves to PA to spend a week with Grammy and Pappy! Nate turned 2 last month and he is a hoot! He has us in stitches most of the time...even when he's being rotten! He is smart as a whip and I am trying to stay 3 steps ahead of him already.

Getting Bigger

Samuel weighed in at 13 pounds 3 ounces and 23 3/4 inches today. And check this out...Nate was 13 lbs. 4 oz. and exactly the same length at 2 months. He is definitely following in his brothers footsteps. Top picture is Nate at 2 months and bottom picture is Sam. Creepy huh?

Ain't he precious! This is a rare moment this week as Samuel has been SO fussy! Don't know if it's colic or reflux, but he has been a pill! We go to the doctor tomorrow so I will post his new stats soon. Happy Spring Break!

BIG BOY!!

Samuel went in for his 1 month check up today and Dr. Spinner said that he looks GREAT! He is eating VERY well...about 6 ounces every 4 hours and his weight gain proved it. At 2 weeks, he weighed 7lbs. 14oz. and was 20 3/4 inches long. Today he was 10lbs. 10oz. and 22 inches long. WOW!!! What a chubber! But he seems so much smaller than Nate was at his age, so I decided to check in on his brothers baby books and see how much they weighed at this age. See below....

Joshua:

Jacob:

Samuel is the biggest boy yet! If he keeps this up, he is going to outgrow Nate who is already close to outgrowing the twins!!! Can you imagine what our food bill is going to be in a few years?!!!!!!

Two of my friends gave me a great idea to take Samuel's picture every month in the same chair next to a teddy bear, etc. Thanks Lori and Shana!! :) So here is Samuel at one month old. Ain't he adorable?

MAJOR update

WOW! It has been busy around here! First came a "fly-through" visit with Papa Rob.

Then came Christmas and a visit from Grammy.

And in then we rang in the New Year. 2009 brought us Samuel Jay Hery. Samuel was born on January 15th at 12:37 pm. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 inches long. He is a good baby and has completed our family perfectly. We are so happy to have him here!!!!

Baby Update

I went to the doctor yesterday and had my last ultrasound. It took all my strength and some words of encouragement from my SIL to walk out and still not know the sex.....but I did it! Only 5 weeks to go (from today)! I am SO ready and SO excited to meet this last little member of our family. The baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule and is already almost 6 pounds. We are anticipating a 8-9 pound baby. But, hey after 12 pounds of twins, that's nothing!!! I am looking forward to the next 2 weeks off and spending time with the family (esp. because my mom is going to be here for Christmas)!

BIG boy

Nate went to the doctor yesterday for his 18 month checkup. Dean took him (which was a first) and did a very good job. He asked the doctor all the right questions and handled Nate through a temper tantrum. I was so proud! :) He didn't have to get shots which made me happy for Nate, but I secretly wish Dean would've had to deal with that too! :) Anyway, Nate weighed in at 30 pounds, 8 ounces and he is 28 inches tall (96% for weight and 95% for height). But we knew that...he is wearing 2T pants and 3T shirts!!!

DATE! I know y'all thought I was going to say boy or girl! I just can't find out. We talked about it and I considered it, but I really want it to be a surprise. But, I did schedule my c-section date. We will be having this baby on Thursday, January 22nd. I am very excited and now I can start counting down the days. I start going to the doctor every other week now and she is going to do another ultrasound at the end of December. So as of tomorrow, I only have 10 more weeks!!! YAY!!!!!! :)

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween Trick or Treating with the McAfoose's. We rode in a trailer around the neighborhood and the kids jumped out at the friendly houses. Dean took Nate to all the houses and after about 2 or 3, he got the idea. He would go up to the door, hold out his pumpkin basket and say "Pees, Pees!" until the candy hit the bottom then he would turn around and head out. He is cutting teeth and had fever earlier that day, so he only made it about 3/4 of the way through. After that he opted for my lap instead of candy.

Cub Scouts, Halloween and Such

Okay so as usual, it has been as crazy couple of weeks around here. Josh and Jake have joined the Cub Scouts and love it. It keeps us very busy...at least one meeting/event per week.

I am now 26 weeks pregnant...can you believe how big I am? I feel pretty good, but dealing with two 6 1/2 year olds, a 17 month old and a traveling husband all while working full time is leaving me pretty darn exhausted at the end of the day.

We went to Slime Fest and Trunk or Treat at the church today. Joshua and Jacob are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum this year and Nate is the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Nate was a TOTAL pill...he just sat in the car while Dean passed out candy and pitched a fit. Good thing he is so stinkin' cute or we might have handed him out with the treats.

Baby #4 20 weeks

Here are the latest pictures of Hery Baby #4. Everything looks great! It is measuring about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I stuck my ground and didn't find out the sex today, but it was REALLY tough and my willpower was definitely challenged. I am thinking it's a boy, but we won't know until the end of January/beginning of February. Either way, we will be thrilled and blessed.

New school year/Hurricane Ike

Okay, so I knew when I started this blog I probably wouldn't be very good at keeping it updated and I was right. I try, I really do....but I have been SUPER busy!! Here's a recap of the last few weeks.

We all started back to school. I am working in Cy-Fair now teaching 2nd grade math/science. I am SLOWLY adjusting to a new environment, but I really love having the twins at school with me. Josh and Jake are in 1st grade now and have the same switch teachers. They seem so much more grown up now...so responsible and big. Nate started at a home-based daycare and he is loving it. He is used to his new routine and is really enjoying playing with the other kids. Michelle (his caretaker) tells me that he comes and sits with the bigger kids during preschool circle time. He really does think he is older than he is.

The twins have joined the Cub Scouts (as Tigers). They are very excited about it...especially the camping and special activities. They haven't had a meeting or anything yet because of the storm, but they will soon. We'll keep you posted.

We decided to stay here and ride out Ike. My sister, brother-in-law and nephew came over and stayed here. We lost power around 11pm on Friday and didn't get it back until Sunday night. The winds were a lot stronger than I had anticipated, but the storm didn't last as long as we thought it would. We have some damage to our roof (lost shingles and one leak), part of the fence was blown over and we have some uprooted bushes. Otherwise, no major damage and everyone is safe. We feel very blessed. After losing power and spending one very long day in post-Hurricane misery, the boys and I trekked over to San Antonio and stayed with my BFF Mel's parents. We had a good time playing with her boys and having Nana spoil us. Thanks again McAfoose/Thurwalker family!!!! School has been canceled for the rest of the week, so we will be here picking up the pieces. Dean flew out Monday morning to CA for a conference that was planned months ago. He'll have lots of projects on his Honey-Do list when he returns on Friday. :)

Baby #4 is doing great! I am feeling lots of movement now. I am 20 weeks and I have my big ultrasound tomorrow afternoon. We are still not going to find out the sex of the baby, but I am excited to see the little being again. Last time I saw it was 12 weeks ago! Check back for those pictures soon!

Hope everyone affected by Hurricane Ike is finding some sense of normalcy returning and that everyone and there loved ones are safe!

PA Trip

Well, I FINALLY got the pictures of our PA trip from Mom and Tom, so I thought I would post a few. We had a great time and I was terribly grumpy the first few days after we got back to TX. We all had fun visiting with aunts, uncles and cousins and playing in the creek water. I miss everyone there and the not so hot and humid summer weather they get. Baby Update

I went to my OB yesterday for a check up. I am now 13 weeks. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat for about 5 seconds because the little one was jumping all over the place. My OB's nurse seems to think that is a sign that it is a bratty little girl. :) Dean and I have decided not to find out the sex of this one until it gets here, so it will be awhile until we find out. Having another little boy would make our lives a lot simpler, but we would be happy to have a little girl bless our home too!

Pappy's Visit

We had a GREAT time with Pappy last week! We got to go eat at his favorite places (The Smokehouse and La Hacienda's). We took him to the playground. We took him to see Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D. And we all went to Alex's first birthday party and got to see Uncle Eric's family too. It was a wonderful week. We only had one incident. The first night Pappy was here, he stayed at Aunt Jessica's house. Being the nice guy he is, he was trying to be helpful and take out the trash. Little did he know that there was a paint spackle in the bag. He cut his leg on it and had to go get 10 stitches. The twins and I decided that it looks like the letter L for Leonard. :) He left Monday with the twins and they are having a blast in PA with their grandparents. Dean, Nate and I leave tomorrow for PA and we all come home on Wednesday. I'll post info from our trip later next week.

Trip to New Orleans

We spent last weekend visiting family in New Orleans. We drove in Thursday night. Friday morning we went to the Quarter with MawMaw, PawPaw, our boys and Emma. We had lunch at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. We also think we may have found Brad and Angelina's house, but they were off in France having the twins. :) With all the excitement and some of Daddy's Hurricane from Tropical Isle, Nate passed out before we left. Dean played golf Friday afternoon and most of the day Saturday, while the boys and I hung out with MawMaw, Aunt Ra, Colin and Emma and went swimming. It was a nice, restful trip. Pappy comes tomorrow, so we are looking forward to his visit!

Week with Grammy

My mom was in town the last week and we had a blast!!! We took all 4 boys swimming at the YMCA pool and to Noah's Ark. We all had such a good time having her with us and we were so sad to see her go! Luckily, Pappy will be here in just over a week and a half. He is taking the twins back with him and then Dean, Nate and I go up to PA for 5 days at the end of the month. Here are some of my favorite pictures from Grammy's visit! We love you and miss you whole big bunches!!!!
